3-Gun Pistol Practice Session

Note: Wednesday Night!! 

This is a practice session for the Club Trophy Match, WIPL and/or 3-Gun Pistol shooters. Only shooting relays for this match format are conducted in this session - no other shooting allowed. Please check the calendar for the next scheduled Club Trophy Pistol match, 3-Gun Pistol Match and/or WIPL matches. 3-Gun matches are typically scheduled four times per yr. while WIPL matches are once per month but move between clubs from Sept to April.  Club Trophy match is once per year typically in November. 

If you are new to any of these matches then you should be attending this practise session to learn the procedures BEFORE coming to the next match! Come out and get your guns ready to participate.

Please register for the session so we know you are attending. If we have insufficient registration, the event may be cancelled.

Background: 

A 3-Gun Pistol Match consists of three individual - three target matches: 1) a 22 cal pistol match, 2) a centrefire pistol match, and 3) a 45 cal pistol match, as derived from the NRA format.  You may sign up for any one, two or all.  The club trophy shoot is similar except it consists of only the first two matches - 1) 22 cal pistol and 2) any centrefire pistol.  

In 3 - Gun pistol you are allowed to shoot with two hands, and targets are appropraitely placed at 20 yards.  The three relays following a sighter series are: 1) Slow fire: 10 sots in 5 min., 2) Timed fire: 2 x 5 shots in 20 secs., and 3) Rapid fire: 2 x 5 shots in 10 seconds.   

NOTE: Junior shooters are welcome when fully supervised by an adjacent adult. 

The LRGC pistol team also schedules special match practice sessions mid-week usually in the 1 or 2 week(s) prior to all scheduled WIPL (Once per month between Sept and April) or 3-Gun Pistol matches (4 times per year). These WIPL match relays are nearly the same format as our 3-Gun Pistol matches so you may want to attend to practice for either WIPL or 3-Gun Pistol.
NOTE: No other shooting is permitted in these practice sessions.

WIPL Events: Single-handed Bullseye pistol shooting in 22 LR and centrefire pistols. Events include slow, timed and rapid fire targets. You must shoot 5 of 8 matches for scores to qualify.
